A photo from this weeks partial solar eclipse.
Solar eclipses happen when the mood lines up between the Earth and the sun. Although in this case (known as an annular eclipse) the dark moon’s diameter was smaller than the visible disk of the sun. This caused it to leave a ring of fiery light around the edges.
